Where to stay in New Orleans?

Anonymous
Attending a wedding this fall in New Orleans, I think in the Bourbon Street area. There are a few hotel blocks at some so-so hotels (nothing with great reviews on Trip Advisor). Would love to spend less than $150 a night. Any recommendations?

The Royal Sonesta and OMNI are great.

Sometimes rooms go for really, really cheap in the off season.

I'm from the area and like to stay here when I visit family.

If you like a little funky, try hotel Conti.

if you'd like a suite, the Embassy Suites is nice and I think only a block or 3 from the Quarter.

Or you can just go bland american basic and the Mariott is right there or the Hyatt.

Both Omni's are great. tho of the two I prefer the Royal Orleans of

I like the royal sonesta...but you need to request a quiet room that doesn't face bourbon street. I told them I was pregnant when I checked in and that I was there on business, and they put me in a nice room towards the back of the hotel...very quiet (but my colleagues facing bourbon street said they heard a lot of noise all night long).

OP here -- thanks for all of the recommendations! I was just checking out prices. The Hotel Conti is only $100 a night (or less!) when we are going in December. It looks like it gets good reviews on Trip Advisor, and looks like a nice place. Thanks!

New poster, but have also stayed at the Conti a couple of times. Nothing fancy but perfectly fine for the price and in my experience, pretty quiet considering it's in the heart of the Quarter. Have fun!

If you are going in December then BOOK NOW especially if it's late December

if you are looking for something off the beaten path and with a bit of charm try the 1896 O'Malley House Bed and Breakfast-it's amazing! Rooms are gorgeous and the food is fantastic! Five stars in my humble opinion!

Be sure to get a Hurricane at Pat O'Brien's!
