I wonder if anyone has received official scores yet. From the VDOE website, the Math sores dropped significantly but a few schools managed to maintain very high pass rates.

was the test harder for all grades? which grade sol tests should we use to do the comparison? was the pass advanced cut-off also proportionately harder this year? |
| Does anyone have a link to results by school? The only ones I see on the Va. Dept. of Ed. site are state-wide average passrates. |
the bottom of that web page from doe is a link to a spreadsheet with worksheet for state, county, and school-specific results - quite interesting. It looks like the grade 5 math sol had the greatest drop in performance, and you can see which schools had the highest pass rate (hint: I looked through all the schools in a cursory fashion through fairfax and loudon, and spring hill comes in highest at 91% pass rate on the grade 5 math sol - there other good elementary schools are in the 81-87% range). |
| Ouch. Our 5th grade math passing rate dropped by 40%. |
| Thru are at the bottom of that link in an excel spreadsheet. |
Yeah, we beat you. 50%. Yow. |
| I just posted an analysis of Arlington vs. Alexandria. It's really quite shocking and totally undercuts the recent arguments that ACPS is improving. |
| Does anyone know when the pass advanced % data will be posted? |
Did you actually look at that spread sheet? Maybe I'm missing something that you are seeing. I see data for the state as a whole. What I asked for in my PP is the passing rates for each school. I didn't see it in the spreadsheet (despite the link saying it included data for districts and schools). |
The spreadsheet actually has three tabs: The first tab is for the State, the second is for Divisions and the third is for Schools. Hope this helps. |
| It's on the third tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet. |
Thanks. The tabs aren't showing up when I open it. Wonder if I have an old version of Excel running or something fishy is happening. I did look for tabs to find the districts and schools. I'll go back and look AGAIN. |
|
Yeah -- no tabs at the bottom. Just a blue bar that says "Ready"
Is there another way to move to another sheet (from the top menu buttons)? |
| Just figured it out. Saved sheet, then under View, I chose "Arrange All"and that brought out all the different sheet tabs. |
