| Does anyone have a positive story to tell about an IVF cycle where you were on Lupron for an extended period of time? Because of a scheduled trip that I cannot cancel, I will end up being on Lupron for 3 weeks, 2 days before starting my stims and reducing my Lupron. I'm nervous about this and so tempted to try to wiggle out of the trip, but it'd require explaining our ordeal to a huge number of family members (and very likely to spread to friends) that I do not want to do. |
I am currently on Lupron too. Tonight will be injection #7. I am supposed to go in for my first evaluation next Monday the 13th, so that would be day 13. But I don't know how long they will keep me on it (doing an FET). Good luck. It's not a picnic, is it?

| Lupron is an incredibly long lasting drug. It can affect fertility for 2 years post injection in some women. I wouldn't worry about it, go on your trip and try to have fun!! |
| I was on lupron for 3 weeks for my ivf cycle. I responded much better than on a shorter lupron protocol and an currently 7 1/2 weeks pregnant! |
| I was on lupron for for about 17 days, I didn't realize that it could delay a period and I just had to keep waiting for my period to start before going on Stims. If it makes you feel better, I got pregnant on that first IVF cycle. Good luck! |
16:02 pp back: I am on day 9 now, and it is getting sooooo ollllldddddd.
I am also glad to read from the 10:16 poster that it may delay a period? I am just waiting and waiting around for that - sigh - so I guess I should just sit back and be patient, huh? Whenwillallthisbeover???????? |
| 11:06-Im the poster with the delayed period on lupron. I was never told that was likely to happen either. I am almost always a 28 day cycle woman. I started lupron on day 21 I think and then got very worried when period never came. The nurse said "oh thats quite common" (add this to the list of things they never mention unless you specifically ask at the RE). Period came around day 36 or so and was a normal in every other way, then started stims. We planned on 10 days of stims but did 12. You just have to be as flexible as possible every single day, cause it truly changes day to day, especially as you near the end of stims. I am 19 weeks now! Good Luck! |
11:06 back again. Thank you soo much for your words of wisdom. Seriously, they make me so relieved, I almost want to weep. Ok, so maybe I have been worrying about this too much. But yeah, they never told me this; in fact, they said, ". . .and yes, you WILL get your period while on Lupron." So, I was just like, "Oh? Okay, la la la. Everything should be hunky dory and status quo. NOT!!!!" Ok, so I just guess I'll keep on doing the d@mn Lupron. Fun fun fun. Today is only Day 29 so I should just settle in for the long haul, I think. Grrr. Ok, THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!

| 11:27--we should start a spin off thread of "important things my RE never told me unless I asked"--I swear I have gotten more helpful info from this ttc board than my RE. And I liked my RE personally (I was at CFA) but the nursing/admin staff just were always so rushed that maybe they cant even remember what the tell one woman to the next. But I wasn't kidding on the flexibility part...if you can keep your calendar as empty as possible do it! by days 6 on of stims I had to go in every morning for blood work and sono to try and get the right stimulation going. Then quick change from five day to 3 day transfer etc (took the retrieval and trasnfers days off from work). You will get through it and look back and be amazed at your fortitude. |
Yes! A thread called "Important Things My RE Never Told Me Unless I Was a Mind-Reader and Thought Ahead to Ask" would be a perfectly apropos thread! Sheesh! Great idea!!!
Well, I will remain as flexible as possible, as loose as a goose like yo usaid and just attempt to really go with the flow. Who knows what is going to happen with all this. We'll see!
Right now I am on Day 30 with no AF in sight. . .don't even feel like it is anywhere near at all actually. . .so, probably setting in for an uneventful weekend. . .and will just keep on taking the blasted Lupron, of course. . . Thank you again for your kind words! |

Well, wonders will never cease! Actually got period when never even felt it coming. So strange.
Well! Emailed nurse to let her know and am now awaiting further instructions. . . Yeah! Let's get this party started!

| Bumping this up, b/c I will have been on Lupron for 33 days before a hysteroscopy on Monday, Sept. 10. Has anyone been on Lupron for this long? Sigh. . . |
