How can they bring change with polarizing politics?

I don't believe for a second that McCain/Palin can bring any change to Washington. After Palin's speech, I am more convinced that these two would simply continue polarizing politics leading to stalemates.

Palin's speech was about "like me", my way or the highway, and throwing attacks to the other side. Her positions (at least those we are aware that she holds) are extremely polarizing. This is all great if you want someone who pushs a far right agenda but it isn't going to get anyone anywhere on the economy or healthcare.

The Bush administration has created one of the worst climates for political consensus and achievement in decades. This duo will bring the same things. Think about it, McCain has been in congress for what 24 years and is very powerful. He certainly has not been very successful in shaking anything up. Palin has never built coalitions to get anything done. There are many states with complex politics and two active parties that require work to get things done..Alaska is not one of them.

The avoidance of doing interviews with reputable journalists is also characteristic of the Bush media.

When Obama speaks, he conveys hope and reminds me of how Kennedy could inspire others to build bridges and come together as a nation, not split apart. I think Obama's real strength is in his ability to unite. I have much more faith that he will bring change and bring the nation to focus on issues that are most critical to all Americans.
