What is going on with Hotmail?

Why did it suddenly kick me out of my account and is now asking ridiculous "security" questions - including credit card info ?!?!?!

I am NOT going to enter any credit card info and i cannot recover my account!

Am I the only one suffering this? This is my work email.

No one uses hotmail anymore. People are scared of it because of all the viruses. Get a gmail account immediately after you resolve this and have it forwarded there.

I have multiple hotmail accounts and it's annoying. Ugh. OP, what I do is enter my password. When I get to the security stuff I click out, then I go to hotmail again and it lets me in.

I didn't know about viruses. I tend to be the last to do things because if something works for me I stick with it. I guess I will be looking into Gmail at some point.

FAIL at ignorance. Hotmail is more advanced than gmail. Hotmail is in the process of being upgraded to outlook

My hotmail was hacked a couple of years ago, and I wasn't able to re-establish control over the account (because hotmail wouldn't let me). I'm ready to believe all kinds of nasty things could be going on with your account, OP. I certainly wouldn't give them credit card information.

This is me. It's a PIA to switch after so many years. My hotmail email is on all my e-billing accts.

What do people use for e-billing and other stuff that is not work related? What is the most reliable email service?

That's great news! I hope they will change the "hotmail" to something better, while they're at it.

Hi everyone: I just bought a new laptop computer a few months ago and I am getting me feet wet again so to speak with the operations of the device. So not knowing much on the subject of a good email connection I hooked up with a Hotmail account. In turn, I tried to send resume's through my "new account" on Hotmail!. They either got gobbled up by an evil force from within the account or I would recieve a message that "We are sorry but we cannot make the cross connection to the website that you have provided us with. I now have a Google account and everything seems to be going fine. My thought's from being the "kinda new guy on the block" so to speak. Dump the Hotmail account and do yourself a favor you will be happy in the end. Thanks.

It is the virus king. One step virus infection, no need to open the attachment, infected by just opening the email message.
