Great Falls Q

Are there any areas of Great Falls on sewer vs septic?

Not that I know of. Last year when we were house shopping every house we saw in GF was on septic which was one of the reasons we opted to go a little south of there where the houses were on sewer...technically the address is not GF but the schools are the same.

That's where we are now (hi neighbor!) but we"d like to eventually live in GF to feel more a part of the community. Not sure we could handle septic, though.

There are some neighborhoods on public sewer. I was the op of a thread on GF a couple of months ago and I referred to a couple. At the time we were thinking of relocating to GF but our plans have since changed. I got some good recommendations of neighborhoods very close to GF.

We are looking in Great Falls and would appreciate hearing about your experiences with septic systems - how much of a hassle is it?

Not sure. We have lived in GF with septic for 7 years and have had zero issues with it. I think my husband has to turn a valve or something every year or two, and we get a reminder about that. The bigger issue for us is being on a well (some neighborhoods south of the town center are on public water), which means we have no water during power outages (with all of the trees in GF, you can be out of power for awhile). Some people get generators for this reason. We love it here despite this inconvenience.

Yes, there are neighborhoods in G Falls w sewers. I know off of Leigh Mill several areas have sewer. Not really sure how you can search to find out specifically tho.
