question about using fertility friend if not temping

Anonymous
Hello all:

I'm using fertility friend but I really don't want to temp for a variety of reasons. I'm recording CM as well as using the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor (sticks and monitor). This is my first month using the monitor but my third month charting (and second month TTC--though we didn't really try very hard last month).

So if I'm not actually taking BBT daily, do I need to override the ovulation detector? In other words, FF won't recognize ovulation based on other signs, you must be ovulating? I am using the OPK as my primary ovulation detection mode, but I wish it would consider my other signs as well, despite not temping. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the chart, though. The reason is, it's giving me an "ovulated today" sign based on my OPK as prediction, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to ovulate tomorrow based on my other signs (and personal history).

Thanks!

Can you override? If you can, I would. I always put in fake temps to make it show I ovulated on the day I knew I did.

I'm doing the same thing as you, and I've switched over to medhelp's tracker b/c it will detect ovulation for you (so no manual override required as in fertility friend) based on OPKs and fertility monitor readings.

Here's the link for medhelp: http://www.medhelp.org/land/ovulation-calendar

It's also prettier

I second the medhelp ovulation tracker. FF was only useful when tempting, once you switch to CM tracking Medhelp is much nicer.

Oh, thank you for the links to medhelp. Darn, I just basically inputted all of my period dates into FF for the past year and a half! (had them recorded on my calendar, which I kept). If I don't get pregnant this month (I should be doing it right now but I'm so damn tired - DS1 just gave us a hard time about bedtime for the first time in ages and now DH and I are like - ugh - should we do this?) then I may switch over to medhelp's chart - I did sign up tonight.

Thank you!
