Elem. Ed teacher jobs

I'm looking for advice on what do next. I taught one year out of college successfully and I really really enjoyed it. I stayed at home after my DH was born and continued to stay at home and have more children up until this point. Five years later I find myself renewing my certificate and itching to go back. I put in a full application with HR at the end of July (spontaneous decision). Did I wait too late and miss the opportunity or did my lack of experience and notable absence from the classroom cost me a job and all future opportunities?

Which school district did you apply with? If MCPS, they have started to post specific vacancies at their career site. Otherwise, I would try subbing initially and see what happens next year....

Ok, thanks. I will take a look. Although, I can't really afford to sub with a bunch of kids in daycare. I need back teacher pay.
