Does anyone use a financial adviser that they can recommend (preferably in NOVA)?
What services does he/she/they provide? Do they have full control over all of your investments and savings? For example, do they perform trades on your behalf regularly? Do they manage or simply provide reports and recommendations? Lastly, how much do they charge for their services? Thanks! |

napfa.org is often recommended as a place to search for a fee-only certified financial planner. They do with your money only what you authorize them to do (up to controlling the money and making trades). The fees are published, often times a % of the money they are managing for you (about 1% but varies).
I've been searching for someone to do just a comprehensive "check up" for an hourly fee. From what I read, it's hard to find an advisor who will do only the review/recommendation part and doesn't want to also manage your money and collect the fees annually. |
