Last week of August daycare is closed -- where can I enroll toddler for 1 week?

Anonymous
My daughter's daycare is closed for 1 week and I have twins at home so am unable to watch all 3 kids on my own. I am trying to find a summer camp or some place where I can enroll him for that week or even for 4 days. Anyone have ideas? I don't have any relatives or friends I can ask for help that week.

Suggestions welcome!!

You can't watch your three kids for one week?!?!?! Pathetic.

It's one week. You can do it.

Is there some medical reason you can't take care of your kids?

Can you keep your older child home and hire a mother's helper for the week?

College students will be back in town then- check out the AU jobs board and hire a babysitter for half days or something to take the older one to the park.

Are you serious? Am I the only parent who finds it exhausting to watch a crawling infant and a rambunctious toddler at the same time? My daughter has frequent tantrums and I an constantly disciplining her. She is definitely strongwilled and in her terrible two phase. It is so hard to nap her without spending a good chunk of time with her in her room. The infant takes very short naps so I end up raking him in while I try to nap the other one. Suffice it to say I am exhausted by the end of the day. I have to get up several times during the night for the infant.

I consider myself a good mom and energetic with reasonable expectations, but some kids are harder to watch than others. I am amazed at mothers who can watch several kids and keep their cool.

Not the poster you quoted, but isn't that the point of what she was saying? Get someone to come over and HELP?? So, you're saying it's not only nearly impossible to watch "several" of your own kids, but ridiculous to watch a mess of young kids-- with someone helping? WTF are you talking about?

Well, you aren't a good.mother because any mother who cannot take care of her three kids for one week should not have had more than one kid. Your DD sounds like aspoiled brat and this is your doin

OP, do you think getting a college or high school student needing cash to help you for the week is an option? If not, I'd really like to know why not.

You folks are mean.

Hang in there OP. you can do it. You'll survive.

Wow, Op. I have twins AND a toddler too. I do just fine. Why have kids if you can't take care of them. Maybe you should use this as a learning opportunity for yourself to learn how to manage your family better. I promise, promise that you CAN do this!!
