cake for christening

Where's a good place in/around Bethesda area to get a cake made for a christening? I don't need anything too fancy or super expensive, but want something cute.

Honestly, we find for sheet cakes that the Giant does them really well and at much better prices than the local bakeries. We used one this year for a bris. It was a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and said Mazel Tov and I think we put balloon designs on it. And we ordered it online.

What are you planning to have written on the cake for the christening? Congratulations seems odd to me, but it seems like there should be something on there.

Most people typically write, "God bless _____," on their Christening cakes.

OP here - either God Bless... or just a cross or something

Just cakes is really good as far as flavor. I had them do a fancier decorated/novelty cake and wasn't impressed for the price. The fondant "sculpting" looked like a glorified play dough experiment. But if you are looking for something yummy that isn't a grocery store cake and doesn't have any fancy elements other than some writing in icing and flowers, they would fit the bill.

We had a cake from Stella's. Pretty fancy, but also tasted good.

Wagshals. All of our guests raved about it.
