| Where's a good place in/around Bethesda area to get a cake made for a christening? I don't need anything too fancy or super expensive, but want something cute. |
Honestly, we find for sheet cakes that the Giant does them really well and at much better prices than the local bakeries. We used one this year for a bris. It was a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and said Mazel Tov and I think we put balloon designs on it. And we ordered it online. |
| What are you planning to have written on the cake for the christening? Congratulations seems odd to me, but it seems like there should be something on there. |
Most people typically write, "God bless _____," on their Christening cakes. |
| OP here - either God Bless... or just a cross or something |
| Just cakes is really good as far as flavor. I had them do a fancier decorated/novelty cake and wasn't impressed for the price. The fondant "sculpting" looked like a glorified play dough experiment. But if you are looking for something yummy that isn't a grocery store cake and doesn't have any fancy elements other than some writing in icing and flowers, they would fit the bill. |
| We had a cake from Stella's. Pretty fancy, but also tasted good. |
| Wagshals. All of our guests raved about it. |
