How full are the mls 2 teams currently?

Is it worth being on the NAL team hoping to get moved up?

No, unfortunately (and this is the same at pretty much every club), it will be very difficult to make the top team if your DC is placed in the 2nd or 3rd team. It's not unheard of, but usually to move up you have to switch clubs - it's why when new players are added to the top team's roster, it's typically from another club.

Why wouldn't the 2nd, 3rd 4th team etc just continue to play in NCSL? Easy to find the right level of competition with all the divisions and the league games are not long drives

You must be new around here

I really don't understand what's wrong with NCSL. Its very convenient.

Does anyone have any insight into the 2014 boys at VRSC? Is the top team hard to break into? Where do the first and second teams play? I assume MLS next 2 and NAL start at U13? There isn’t a “pre” league like there is for ECNL?

Per the club's FAQ, they're saying the second teams are playing in NAL and have told folks as such. But, I understand the hesitancy because there is nothing official posted anywhere.

Confirmation from the club that although they’ve said/advertised NAL, they are NOT yet in the league and are waiting to find out.

The 2014s were/are pretty good. They’ve lost a couple of top players to Loudoun which has hurt them, but still one of the better young VRSC boys teams.

Honestly, I agree. Why put a 3rd team in "NAL" when NCSL is the same level and more convenient?

Seriously, they did not win a single game in EDP last fall and would appear relegated to NCSL this spring.

What about the girls’ side? Does anyone have any inside info? I have two daughters, one born in 2014 and the other in 2015, and we’re looking for a new move. Are both top teams fully packed? How hard is it to break in? What style are they playing? We have an ID session next week, but it would be nice to have some insight before we go in.

What style are 10 years playing? Is this a serious question?

Yes, it’s a serious question. Some teams prefer a direct, physical style with long balls and aggressive pressing, while others focus on building from the back with controlled possession. If you don’t have a meaningful answer, just move along—no need to be a keyboard warrior.

This is our 2nd year and we're happy with the development. They focus on possession and playing from the back. It's definitely not a kick and run style. You will see from the id sessions that the focus is on possessing the ball using short passes.
