Interesting birthday party ideas for 8 year old boy

We live in DC. Looking for fabulous ideas for an upcoming birthday party! What have you seen thats really worked, and is a bit unusual? Thank you.

The laser tag birthday parties are really popular with boys if the kids are into that sort of thing. Ive been to all the locations nearby and I like this one the best because the lobby is large and kids as young as 6 can play.

The game truck parties are pouplar too. And again, this is in Falls Church but the drive was not bad.
