NYC Mayor wants to "lock up" baby formula

"New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg just unveiled a health initiative that he hopes will encourage new moms to breastfeed. The plan? Ask hospitals to treat formula like any other regulated substance, keeping it locked up and given out only under certain conditions." Here's the full article:

Next step, women should not work either because it's better for them to stay home to bond with the baby. Come on Mayor Bloomberg - force breastfeeding for women and force them to stay home!

I like Michael Bloomberg. He's well-intentioned. But this really defines nanny state.

If anything, formula should be given out more freely so we can reverse this perverse obsession with breastfeeding that is destroying the confidence of so many new mothers.

Hes a democrat and has always been one. Switched to Republican to beat out a crowded primary but he is a fully Mary Cheh through and through.
