I have steadily gained weight throughout my adult life, despite walking sometimes 3-5 miles a day, doing yoga 90 minutes a day 4-6 times a week, etc. I never drink soda, never eat fast food. I now weigh over 220 lbs and am 5'4".
I (am so, SO glad this is anon) grow facial hair. A lot of it. Chin and cheekbones. I have to pluck twice a week. I don't have health insurance but hope to in the next month or so. The inability to lose weight coupled with facial hair makes me think of PCOS. Except, I have zero issues with my period. I get it about ever 30-35 days, it lasts only 4 days, no cramps except MAYBE once or twice a year. What's wrong with me? |
| Nothing. You have pcos. I found out I had it when trying to get pregnant. You have to lose weight to get rid of pcos but you can't because you have it. Go to your doctor, get on Metformin, continue to exercise and check out soulcysters website. Everyone has a different cycle. I went to a dr in Elliott city who is a weight loss specialist and lost fifteen pounds using phentermine so my cycle came back. Then after my second child I received Mirena IUD so I never have a cycle. Everyone is different. |
| Metformin is for diabetes. ??? |
| You are also most likely pre-diabetic or diabetic. Get your blood sugar level tested. I found out 7 years ago I had PCOS and diabetes. They go hand in hand. I've been on metformin ever since and have had regular periods all that time. I had problems with my periods for years and all the doctors wanted to do was put me on birth control. Go figure. |
