Nope. And I asked by e-mail a week ago to the Mayor and the Chancellor if they were attending public school (but not where - I don't really consider that as important as if). But no response. If you think this is important, I encourage you to send an e-mail in too, or communicate with the Mayor in some other way. |
Probably safe to assume a) not a public school, b) wasn't a unanimous parental decision, and c) if it's Capital City public charter, it could be until October before they get off the waitlist. ![]() Now that school has started, it's starting to feel like a catch-22. If they are at a DCPS he'll be slammed for not saying so, if they aren't he'll be slammed for being a hypocrite. Guess we need to write this off as yet another "personal family issue" in politics. |
This was discussed ad nauseum in another thread. His children go to Tots Developmental School in NW DC. |
get over it - they are probably at the same school they were last year. worry about what he is getting done in the district rather than his person campaign promises that he should have probably never made. Politicians pull out on more significant promises once they get elected than this one. At least he is working hard at improving public schools and the way that the district is governed - shouldn't that be enough? |
And the conclusion of the thread was that Fenty had promised to enroll his kids in DCPS after they finished at their current school. They have one more year. Such a shame to see so much righteous indignation go to waste. Ah, well, there's always next year. |
IIRC, the school that the boys go to - at the time of Fenty's campaign promise to enroll them in DCPS after they "aged out" of their current school - only went to 2d grade at the time of that promise. Now that school goes to 3d grade. Waddaya wanna bet that next year, the school adds a 4th grade, and the Fenty boys will stay yet another year out of their father's fabulous DCPS. (Hey Adrian... MY kids are in DCPS - Why aren't YOURS??) |
