I'm meeting a friend for dinner there before a movie. For mobility reasons we need to be right there, not at a restuarant nearby.
What's the best place or places to avoid? |
| There are severel restaurants in the center -- Hops is very good. |
| Not many good options at all. I'd go with Hops. Your only other option for a sit-down meal is IHOP. |
That's helpful to hear. I guess I know what an IHOP is like, if there is still one there, but I had no idea what Hops was. |
The Mexican place is bad or not sit-down? |
| Hops is OK. Could also go somewhere in Del Ray - like a 3 minute drive. Cheesetique, Evening Star, and Taqueria Poblano are all good if all different from each other. You'd have to get back in the car either way - Hops would still be a long walk from the movies (really any of the restaurants would be). |
The Mexican place is so-so, think Chevy's-type food. So, it's doable, if you're in a pinch. Otherwise you can try Jaleo in Crystal City or any one of the other restaurants there. But Hops, Don Pablo, etc are ok options too. |
Icky. |
She's rather wheelchair from that location but I like your recs. Hops it is. |
| can you got to the movies at Hoffamn 22. They have a rudby tuesday, teds montana, and a dielas (ph) (a med. place) all with in yards of the door. Plus way more screens |
+1. I live less than a mile from Potomac Yards and only go to Hoffman. It's much nicer and only 2-3 miles away. |
| What about 23rd Street in Crystal City? Isn't that just a quick drive from Potomac Yards? Lots of options there. |
OP, are you saying that your friend is going to go in her wheelchair from Hops to the movie theater? Not in a car? Honestly, I don't think that would be very safe. You'd be going through the parking lot pretty much the whole way, and it's not a short distance. |
