| do you mean that after a couple of minutes if you held the HPT in the light at a 45 degree angle you could see a hint of a pink line? But it was really faint - like so faint that if you held your arm straight out you couldn't see the line? Just curious. |

YES!!!
Women were going on about their faint positives and if they didn't describe it as you did above I would've been really disapointed. Mine started on day 7dp5dt! Every day it took less and less time to appear, and became more obvious, and took at least 3 minutes in those early days (ie/ bf day 12) to present itself....in the faintest way that only a crazy person would be able to pick up. If I hadn't read all the DC urban moms methods of getting their positive I wouldn't realize I had one either so early in the game! |
| Yes. That's about what it was like at 8 and 9dp3dt. Only after that did the line become more visible. And I was carrying twins, so had high betas when they did the blood test a week later. |
| I saw something like this but it was 2-3 days after my missed period. So you may just be testing too early. By the day after that first test, the line was much clearer and showed up faster. |
| It also depends what test you are using. FRER for instance will show a clearer line more quickly than internet cheapies such as from earlypregnancytests.com. |
I had just the kind of positive HPT test you described. My child is almost 1 year now.

All - thank you for your responses. I feel a little less crazy and cautiously optimistic that in the next few days I won't have to squint, angle and analyze this line. Fingers and toes are crossed.

That's what we mean!
The two faint lines that might not be real are (1) it only shows up after the time period is over - that's not real or (2) some blue dye tests. |
I had a line so faint that I really wasn't even sure if it was there. I showed DH that if we hold it up to the light and look from different angles there might maybe sort of be a line. He laughed and said "test again in a couple days, sweetie." The next morning (of course) I tested again. I actually left the room while waiting for the result because being in the room hadn't worked. When I came back to the bathroom to see it at first glance I was like, oh darn! And then at second glance I saw that there WAS a faint be definate line.
GOOD LUCK!!! |
