why is her 4 month old at the convention right now? I am starting to think they are using him as a "prop"....just so Cindy McCain can hold the sweet sleeping baby. He should be home in a comfortable crib! Not in a loud crowd of people clapping and cheering every 5 minutes...it is making me angry....what about what is best for the baby? Everytime I see that sweet little boy he is asleep in someone's arms....leave him at home where a 4 month old belongs...think of all the germs floating around that place. |
PP here....let me clarify that...I don't think all 4 months old should just be at home all the time....but I would think he should be with a caring relative/sitter versus the convention right now.... |
If he wasn't there, people would be asking if she was hiding him out of shame. |
come on, its history in the making....what will he say in the future about NOT being there? What's 1 night and when else can a kid say their MOM was nominated for VP?....hell yes the kids are going to be there.
and yes, they are all props in showing people who she is and what image they want her to have...Obama had his 2 cuties and I am sure it was past bedtime for them too |
People bring their infants to Nationals games all the time - can't be worse than that.

I have to say that I disagree with 95% of Palins choices, but not the choice to have the baby there. I think the family actually looked pretty genuine and loving in how they passed the baby from one set of arms to another, and the baby didnt cry once. He acclimated in the family members arms beautifully. Now if we're going to comment on the family, the pregnant 17yo busting out of her dress holding her boyfriends hand seemed just a tad staged! |
I have been right up there in being critical of Palin, but it admittedly brought tears to my eyes to see that sweet little boy there tonight totally oblivious to everything going on and just being a little baby. Though, I too am sick of seeing everyone else holding him all the time. Seems like Bristol is certainly getting some good practice. So when does his Mom take care of him and hold and rock him? When she clocks out at night? That should work well if/when she's VP... |
My baby is the same age. I have him out late all of the time. They can sleep through anything and I'm not very anal about him being around lots of people at 4 months old. And I really do think he's most comfortable in my arms, not in his crib. |
I found myself wondering if they'd dosed Trig with some Benadryl to keep him sleeping through all the noise... my baby certainly wouldn't have kept quiet for all that time! But he has bionic ears, so maybe Trig is a good sleeper. |
Down syndrome babies tend to be quiet. Sarah Palin is to be commended for her initiative to put special needs children first. She is an admirable woman. What in the world has Biden done for this country? Nothing I say. |
Not sure where the comment about Biden came from? I think Palin certainly is close with her family and is very inclusive of her special needs child. Biden is also very family oriented. I cannot imagine losing my wife and baby girl and having my two sons injured in a terrible car crash. Biden took the train home every night from the Senate to be with them and nurse his boys back to health. So tragic. I certainly was moved and it shows what a family man Biden is. |
really?? Did you run out of things to complain about? Complain, complain complain....does it ever get tired being so negative? BTW I would have brought my 4 month old along too. |
I was thnking the same thing. Palin never seems to be holding him. |
It was supposed to bring tears to your eyes. I found it very distasteful. I guess at least the camera stopped focusing on Cindy and went to the baby. Looking at her makes me feel scared. |
OK, let's be fair. You never see Palin holding him because you only see her giving speeches. She can't exactly put him in a sling during her speech. If she did, then people would say he's a prop. She has to be speaking or shaking hands, or whatever, when she's in the public eye; she can't really do that with a little guy in her arms. Also, I read somewhere that she brings him to work with her every day (or, well, she did before being nominated for VP...). |
