Anyone have their child participate in the Bring Your Own Device program in Fairfax County Public Schools?

What has your/your student's experience been like? How do you help secure the device? Have you opted for a tablet vs. a laptop? What grade(s) are your students in?

Good question. We planned to allow our rising 7th grader to take an iPad to Lake Braddock next year. But theft was mentioned by several staff members as an issue at the LB parent orientation. Now we aren't so sure.

This is my concern as well. Do students keep a laptop/tablet in their backpack? Do they lock it up somehow? I would not think it would be a good idea to keep such gear in a locker.
