Tip Toey Joey

Anonymous

DS is starting in the one's room soon, and I've been told that he'll be taken to the one's playground 1-2 hours daily. Weather pending, of course. He is also required to wear some sort of footwear indoors since other kids are wearing shoes inside and the teachers don't want his little toes to be stepped on by accident by other kids. So three questions:

1) Do you buy different shoes for indoors and outdoors (playground has mulch, concrete, coarser surface)?
2) What recommendations do you have for indoor and/or outdoor shoes? Seems like the popular ones are Robez, Pediped or Stride Rite??
3) Babystyle has some cute Tip Toey Joey styles. Wondering if anyone has used them, and if so, are they good for indoors or outdoors?

Btw, we have been told that barefoot is best and plan to have him remained barefoot at home, but for now I am trying to find shoes for daycare.

Thanks in advance.

I would just go with the Robeez. If it is not raining (when they should not be outdoors) it will work fine. They get a bit scratched but it is the closest to bare feet. My 3 yr old DD wore them and my 11 month old DS wears the Target version, he is a big boy and the Robeez are too tight on his ankles, the poor little man!

My daughter wears pretty much only Tip Toey Joeys and they're great overall. She's 18 mos. and runs around in them fine both indoors and out (Robeez aren't enough support once a child is walking). I think they're really comfortable because she always loves to put them on. My only complaint is that they wear out pretty quickly since the leather is so soft. Pedipeds wear much better and last longer on the playground since the leather is tougher. As a means of comparison, Tip Toey Joeys last us 2-3 months while pedipeds last until she out grows them.
