Good detective/crime/thriller series on Netflix or Amazon prime?

Spiral, a French police show, if you want to go a bit further afield.

- Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered: the Lost Children (HBO) This particularly resonated as I lived near Atlanta at the time and it was so horrifying and scary
- Murder in the Bayou (Showtime) this one really brings home how little some lives are valued by society.
- I’ll be gone in the Dark (HBO) ... about the Golden State Killer. Thought it was better than the book given real life perspective.

It appears my COVID TV habits are pretty dark.

The most recent season of mindhunter included this as a plot.

I heard Hannibal was good but my DH doesn’t like shows that were on network tv.

Thanks!

Who killed Santa? Murderville mystery
Will Arnett joined by Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph who are unscripted. Really funny mystery/ improv

Dead Man: Knives Out Murder mystery 3 - again dark comedy in the mix

I wasn't a fan. The frame rate was weird throughout the show, one of the eps in S2 was unwatchable due to a weird waviness on the screen, and the dialogue from mid S2 on was mockably trite. Visually, if you're okay with gore, there are some really interesting shots. Costuming was fun. Cool goth horror vibes. Mads is fun to watch. But... meh. This show is kinda mid. The "whodunnit" isn't particularly compelling after S1, so if you're fine watching for visuals only (and the weird frame rate doesn't bother you) it might meet your needs.

+1 for The Residence, which was fun/funny. The Gentlemen (Netflix) is also good, and should be getting a second season (soonish? I hope).
