| There is a market for scalped tickets. |
Yup, you guessed it. Billy Joel. DH would love to go to the show. I just don't want to end up spending hundreds for seats in the 400 sections. I also don't want to show up to the concert and have the tickets I bought from Stubhub be a scam. I read some scary reviews. I know that's not everyone's experience, but it would really suck. -OP |
If it's that important to you, and the Stubhub tickets are at a price you're willing to pay, I'd go ahead and lock them down on Stubhub. That's how the market works. Those with more capacity for risk may end up paying less for their tickets, but also may end up with bad seats or nothing at all. Prices will go up as the event gets closer and then will go down again right before (maybe). That said, I do suspect that they've held back some good seats for the public sale, but how the ticketing systems work has always been a black box. |
| I only buy tickets from stubhub. Usually because we don't decide to go until the week of the event. I've never had illegit tickets. |
| Ok. I have stubhub tickets in my cart ready to just push "pay" and I'll see what I can get in 3 minutes when it opens to the public. Stubhub tickets seem to good to be true which makes me nervous. Still $200 each, so maybe not? |
| Good luck! |
| Did OP say what the event was? I'm trying to get tix now too (11am sales start). |

| Ok, crisis averted! I got better tickets than the stubhub ones for a little less and now don't have to stress about it! Only glitch was that somehow it clicked me out when I went to pay so I had to go back in again quickly and lost the aisle seats. Oh well. Thanks for your help! -OP |

Some ticket buying hints for the future: don't make rash decisions on the general public sale day. A show the size of BJ at Nats Park will ALWAYS have ample seats available. You would be paying top top dollar if you bought on StubHub today.
Also, use the Ticketmaster app. Always better than using the website. And seek out presales. Not hard to do. Facebook, fan clubs/mailing lists, credit cards, radio stations. Google is your friend. I'm what you call a "ticket whisperer". |
| Please stop referring to "scalpers." It's a micro aggression. |

In my opinion, StubHub is simply a con company that specialises in bait and switch.
You can order tickest to an event, and they will accept your money, and they wil tell y0u every day that you will receive the tickets and on the last day of the event, an then you will receive an email saying that the tickets you purchased and paid are not available. They will want to switch you over to another event. Dealing with StubHub is the worst experience that anyone can ever imagine. Phil Ray |

To the PP: I believe people have bought tickets and received them with StubHub, but the negative feedback has scared me away.
Ticketmaster or SeatGeek for me! |
