Does your house cleaner wash sheets, make bed, and do laundry?

Anonymous
The weekly service I use will not strip the beds, but will put on clean sheets and get the clean sheets from the closet. They also gather the stripped sheets and wash them & flip them to the dryer before leaving. They don't fold 99% of the time and I'm fine with that.

If we don't want the sheets washed that week, we leave them on and they'll simply make the beds instead.

They don't do any other laundry, though.

I had someone who came once a week to do our laundry back when I had 4 teens at home. Now we're down to one kid still in HS so it's not as much laundry and she does her own. For the record, the others could also do their own laundry, but we were having too many laundry fights. Even assigning each kid a laundry night didn't work because their schedules were always changing due to sports and after school activities. I was over it so I found someone to do it for us.

For laundry if you don't have a housekeeper then you can use a laundress. I had one that i paid 15/hr 4hrs a week. I dumped a mountain of clean clothes on the bed and she folded and hung and put away. She also periodically organized drawers and pulled and stored the kids clothes that were too small.

Where did you find this person? this is exactly what I've been looking for

Mine does offer it, but I prefer to do it myself only because I pay by the hour, and I'd rather they focus on other stuff (bathroom, kitchen).

Yes this is what we ask ours to do. We wash and put away the sheets.

No. I am not that lazy. They clean the house.
For laundry either hire a laundress or find a full service laundromat.

If you had four teens they should have been cleaning the house, changing sheets. And doing laundry as well as starting dinner. I had two teens, boy and girl, who did this as well as their homework.

Our cleaner comes twice a month. She'll put fresh linens on if we strip the bed first. We do our own laundry.

Our cleaning lady strips the beds, puts on the clean sheets, washes/dries the dirty sheets and leaves them ready to be put on the next week. Same with towels, but she doesn’t do any other laundry. We have an occasional cleaning lady at our summer house who I strip the beds for and leave out clean sheets that she puts on. Not sure what services do.

Our biweekly housecleaner does clean sheets but I strip the beds. She would strip the beds if I asked her to, but it just feels too personal honestly.

$15 is really low. I don’t know how people can underpay someone and be ok with it.

That’s a little better but I remember the going rate back then was $30 an hour. Not using a service.

Nope. We pay people for this. Sorry you can't afford to do the same. Your poor kids.
