DC elections--who are you voting for?

McDuffie
Pinto
Crawford
Raymond

JLG
White
Silverman
Nelson/Raymond/Jackson

Was somewhat torn about White, and only lukewarm on JLG, but the obvious crony vibes among McDuffie, Crawford, and Chavous really rubbed me the wrong way.

IMO anyone who sends their children to private schools should not be the mayor.

25 year DC resident and I send my kids to private schools as well. Not his fault or his kids’ fault that DC public schools suck so much.

+1 21 year resident with kids in private school. I’d rather a mayor who can recognize the schools are not good enough and kids won’t just be fine.

I really appreciated rank choice voting. Yes, it was more work, but I don’t like McDuffie or JLG, and this way I was able to vote them 3rd and 4th, with Johnson and Goodweather 1st and 2nd and not be worried I was throwing my vote away. In the past, I would have had to just hold my nose and vote for McDuffie.

Privilege has its advantages; but if you want to run a city you should invest yourself fully in public services and the public good. Jack Evans sucked in this way too (and many others.)

But the reality is that yours and his are probably going to be fine and do as well are their parents. I don't think any non public person needs to justify their choice in sending their kids to private schools. The reality is that well educated, upper income families do pretty well and go to college coming out of DCPS. It's the kids coming from trauma and instability that are much, much higher need and the school can't meet all the their needs. Parents make choices in the best interests of their kids. Just like those who send their kids to private school, I can't imagine having sent mine to private.

Only race I care about.

That and council rep are the only ones that matter. The rest is noise.

I hate McDuffie a lot but I don't like JLG either. Based on actual positions, McDuffie is for me. Based on personal experience, he sucks.

I'm in line now. Its gonna be a game time decision.

Hah, that's how I felt about Silverman

I like Zalesne and Pinto. They actually had a strategy and talked about the work they've already done.

Pinto is basically a republican and zelesne has not core voter base to be viable, though I agree she is the best to do the job.

McDuffie. I wish there was another choice. JLG’s platform is unrealistic (at best) and her desire for attention from the most undesirable and temporary resident of the city is frightening to me. Let him focus his attention elsewhere …

Janeese all the way!! Let's take our city back!

AP has called this race for JLG

Ugggh White. A smooth politician talker with no substance. There goes DC statehood. Now I wait for him to prove me wrong.
