OP is in DC, which gives them in-state tuition in every state.

DCTAG covers up to $10k (just increased this year to $15k — first increase in decades) of the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition. That amount, even the increased amount, does not give DC residents in-state tuition at many schools. It doesn’t come anywhere close to closing the gap at UVA, for example.

Agree with other posters mentioning McLean School. Been a game changer for my son with a similar profile. He's very social and outgoing, so I worried about the small size, but it's been great for him. Academically he's finally getting what he needs.

Try The Village School in Arlington. Their learning model caters to boys who have a natural tendency and need to move and so are labeled “ADHD”. Their school has freedom of movement and 2 hours of play.
