austerity talk from the guy who pees in a gold toilet.

Didn’t and would never vote for Trump but part of the issue with this country is that we traded stable, most union middle class jobs for cheap crap from China and other countries with horrible labor conditions so that we could satiate short-sighted materialist impulses.

+ buzillions

We need to demand that all products imported from China must be made by companies who are required to treat their workers according to U.S. standards. No tarrifs, just require that their workers be paid more and get all the same protections U.S. workers get. That would level the playing field.

Lmao, Trump is agreeing to sell them chips that will allow them to take the lead in AI and make trillions over time. He’s always trump first, Americans last.

Can you imagine Trump caring enough about American workers to do anything that benefits them? He HATES American workers.

Part of the agreement is that Trump , I mean the USA, will receive a 25% kickback. Hmm

Mr. Trump highlighted his decision to let Japan-based Nippon Steel buy U.S. Steel, a major employer in Pennsylvania. He said his administration "saved" the company, which he said is now "hot as a pistol."

"The one thing you need, you need steel," he said. "You know, you can give up certain products. You can give up pencils... You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. Two or three is nice, but you don't need 37 dolls."

And whatever happened to Greenland? I thought that was our highest priority back in March but he hadn’t mentioned it in months.

Kegsbreath said we get it as part of our global influence, and China gets all of Asia, and Russia takes Europe. It’s in the plans.

I wonder if he heard people talking about the fact that he hasn’t held a rally since he took office, and lost touch with Americans who aren’t billionaires.

He tests his messages in these crowds. I hope he realizes how poorly he’s doing.

"Only two pencils = affordability according to Trump" needs to be on every Dem billboard and ad.

Keep trotting him out to talk about affordability, MAGA. This should end well.

Democrats aren't doing much better in having members of Congress talking about affordability, all while getting rich through stock trades based on inside information.

I think you're getting confused with the actions of Trump Adviser (and insider trader) Stephen Miller.

Stephen Miller’s Stock Sale Raises Questions, Ethics Experts Say
Mr. Miller, one of President Trump’s top advisers, sold shares in the mining company MP Materials following a lucrative deal between the company and the government.
Stephen Miller, a top adviser to President Trump, sold shares worth $50,000 to $100,000 in the mining company MP Materials following a July announcement of a lucrative deal between the Las Vegas company and the Trump administration, government filings show.

The sale came one month after the Trump administration announced an extraordinary series of measures to support MP Materials, which produces valuable rare earth minerals and magnets. The deal, which included the government purchasing shares in the company and committing to buy its products, led MP Materials’ share price to skyrocket.

I’m the last to defend SM, but his sale after the deal.. isn’t that just acting on public info?
Unless you have other info, we can’t waste energy fighting miller on ^

And this is the rehearsed and medicated version of Trump that they probably spent weeks preparing for.

The gaslighting is just astonishing. Rather than acknowledging the very obvious issue of rising prices, he thinks he can just tell people the opposite. He truly does not understand how grocery shopping works. He doesn’t understand that people actually go to the store, look at prices, and buy the same items repeatedly. He has never done that, so he doesn’t realize everyone else does. He doesn’t think we see our own grocery bills and pay them in real time.

He has no clue how pencils work. He doesn’t know that people who actually write things down will need to sharpen the pencil frequently. Therefore 1-2 pencils will not last a kid all year.

He doesn’t know that nobody is buying 37 dolls and that many kids will get zero dolls or toys this Christmas. Our kids should have less while his kids are getting richer every day on our tax dollars.

He sits at his golden country club and tells us it is our responsibility to make do with less. That it is ridiculous for us to have more than we need.

This man is an absolute moron who has no concept whatsoever how our daily lives are lived.

And then there’s the fact that he had the audacity to say Sleepy Joe. He is falling a sleep every time he sits down. That’s a burn he should probably avoid. How does he not know that?

The fact that people are still cheering this on is just unreal.

Well said. All of it. The only thing I would add is he clearly has no idea how many pencils the average kid loses in a year.

Are his rallies having the same effect though? I think the lies are finally catching up to him.

People have to be MAGA-hat-wearing Trump worshippers to be attending the rally in the first place. So they're still having the same effect they were before, which is energizing the MAGA base to vote for...uh...somebody? I'll get back to you on that.

illegal immigrants according to Trump, are simultaneously ripping off American taxpayers by soaking up social services while also buying up houses across the country, driving up housing costs.

Make it make sense.

The Democratic Party of Pennsylvania produces neocon politicians like Fetterman and Shapiro.

They deserve a Trump rally every day.

I hope you've never shopped at Walmart, like me. They're the most responsible for sending jobs overseas because they were price-fixing and wouldn't allow products that were priced too high because their business model is low margins on products, but sell a ton.

Also, Trump is anti-union and pro making money, so this won't change under him.

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/12/09/us/trump-news

Affordability: President Trump gave a meandering speech at a casino resort in Mount Pocono, Pa., that was supposed to focus on affordability, an issue that has dragged down his approval ratings as costs and inflation have continued to rise. But he insisted that Americans were “doing better than you have ever done,” and mocked the term “affordability,” while veering off to opine on windmills, transgender people, the Middle East and Somalia.

The problem is that "meandering speech" needs to be in the headlines. People scanning headlines would think he's seriously addressing affordability and he's doing nothing of the sort.

So tired of the NYT and these outlets that STILL don't know how to report on the felon.

MAGA people are just as culpable in that regard. Our economy is driven by consumer spending by 70%.

Trump shifted them over to the red hats — that way he can make a profit from at least some of them.
