Thanks for calling me out, you are absolutely right. I have a lot of people who are really into running and as a result I have a super skewed perspective on this. |
(A lot of people around me who are super into running) |
I saw a post on Instagram recently about how it is not normal to run a slow pace - it's not "normal" because most people can't run at all! So slow or fast, be proud of yourself for doing it. |
Yes, well, the app is different. There isn’t really anyone chasing you.

NP, thanks for realizing you're wrong! I was going to say something too. I hate when people apologize or say they are slow. That's what I love about running, you are only competing against yourself (unless you actually are really fast). A race is just a thing to train for and try to PR! Everyone should check out ParkRun! They are all over DC, I've made some friends from it. https://www.parkrun.us |
Strava is fine if you dont have a fitness watch to track your runs. But it doesn't help improve your speed. It's just social media for runners, and people who use Strava are usually really FAST. I also do Peloton, but I dont have a treadmill from them, I have a cheap one I got on amazon 10 years ago. I pay $24 a month to have unlimited cardio classes (I have a TV near the tread) |
