Hurt in that they are honest and some moved to ECNL in order to play HS or didn’t play HS because you know- they were ethical and followed the rules. It’s the typical thing is this country- the “good” and moral get screwed. |
Never understood why someone would voluntarily choose to sign-up for MLS Next then be devastated to not play HS You literally chose not to play HS |
You underestimate the sense of entitlement in these parts |
Lightridge or Riverside |
Both programs, if the kids follow the rules will be significantly worse than last year. Last year, most of the kids were ECNL which wasn't an issue. Both schools loss a ton of top end seniors too. |
Actually, it was mls next (superior to ECNL) which explains they’re overpowered squads. Don’t hold your breath on these programs following the rules, after all its NoVa where you must crush anyone and everyone by any means possible. Forget integrity and sportsmanship. That being said, those holding the title of ‘head coach’ will truly be exposed if they do not have those squads anymore. 😅 Interesting spring 2026 is an understatement for those who follow HS soccer. |
| If they want to play high school. Let them play. MLS next is no better than the top programs 10 years ago and they all played high school back then. MLS is a scam overall. NOVA has way too many teams and most of the kids are not even playing college soccer, but we continue to play bc some get recruited. Let them play both and stop falling for their bs. Plus overall high school soccer is a higher level at least in the liberty district and probably Concorde too compared to what my child saw as a 9th and 10th grader playing MLS Next. |
Nothing is stopping these boys from playing for the school they attend for *checks notes* the last 4 years of their adolescence with their friends… Literally allowing mlsnext to dictate your life’s choices is purely an act of cowardice and fear. Like letting the value we put on a piece of paper (money) control our lives. What’s the worst a kid is gonna face for playing for their school? A reprisal and / or expulsion from a club? WOW like there aren’t any other clubs in this cesspool called NOVA. |
| Herndon High School won for boys in the biggest school division in Virginia. I don't think they had any MLS players. |
| I think they had one younger player. They won but there were probably two better team in the region at least 1 that was better than them overall. And Herndon had many VDA and Arlington players which teams beat the mls next teams on a regular basis. Last year The u-19 Arlington team was better than all the mls next teams in the area. Besides playing in mls next tournaments the non mls an academy’s provide very little. Mid coaching and mid playing style. |
| Yeah I mean there are about 6 good clubs(non academy) in NOVA. None of them are great. Go to the one that is closest to your house, don’t try and drive through the traffic for practices. I think this is what most people already do as you can see certain schools have more MLS next players based on their school location and 90% are playing high school by the time they are juniors/seniors. |
I mean, they won the whole state championship. So they beat everyone. Which team do you think was somehow better than the team that won? |
|
Well they lost to one team twice and beat another team in PKs. All 3 of those teams were very good and could have won states easily. They had 5 loses. As mentioned earlier that region in particular is very good and has better quality than you will see from any 15 year old team academy team. |
If you play for a Virginia private high school then your season is Fall and overlaps the ECNL/MLSN season. |
