Horrifying situation in Ann Arbor

That’s why my kid chose UCLA. Sunny and in the 70s today. No regrets.

It’s a beautiful day in Georgia.

In terms of weather, going to college in California is WAY better than at an SEC school in that you have warmth and sunshine but without the unbearable humidity (or the consistent very high temperatues like in Arizona) . I went to a big Southern university and was miserable in the heat in August, September and then again in May -- was often drenched in sweat the first few home football games.

My UM kid has been loving it. The snow started last night when they were all out. Everyone was so excited about it. While it continued for awhile, it didn't seem like there was more than a dusting. DC's Michigan-born roommate thinks it's no big deal, but a lot of kids from this area and south find it pretty cool.

Snow is nice.

I hate hot/sunny areas. Love getting cozy in the cold with coffee and the beautiful snow

The first snow is always nice, let the kids enjoy it.

When it’s the 24th snow after the 6 months November-April of gray skies and cold and dark, that is a different story.

Good school, but long winters. It snowed at my niece’s graduation at the big house 7-8 years ago.

Better than being in a shthole state.

C’mon. Virginia isn’t that bad

It's not great. And it only gets worse the farther south you go.

But the air quality sucks.

+1
Best of all worlds is four seasons, and of course, summer doesn't really matter since students aren't in school then.

CA parent here - it was in the 90’s today 😂 but we’re used to a warm Thanksgiving here. Will “cool down” after that.
