That’s the only way it matters - the prominence or wealth of the grandparent. But not sure if the alumni tag matters even then. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg’s grandkids are going to be on Harvard Z list regardless. |
My grandfather went to Georgetown for a grad program (dentistry) that hasn't existed in decades. I wonder if his great-grandchild will get any boost from this. The admissions officers would probably think we were making it up since it hasn't been around since before they were born. |
Penn does as well. |
But neither finished, right? |
Neither completed their degree. Though I believe Gates received an honorary degree which based on the definition that Harvard provides qualifies him to be called an alum. As we learned from Jared Kushner, those with no affiliation to the university can still receive special consideration if they make big enough donations and kiss enough backsides. |
Yes, neither of them graduated but many people on DCUM are armchair experts in admissions, considering that Harvard doesn't care about dropouts, those are not legacies by any stretch of the imagination. |
| Of course, If GP was president of US, major donor, famous, major CEO, etc. |
| Legacy if attended even if didn’t graduate at Princeton. |
