I can verify with my friend who was a male cheerleader at the time. I’ll need a day or two. It looks like she works as a counselor at Duke now. |
No. Not in same league if students. And one is in Nashville vs Winston-Salem. |
+1 Off to the google… |
Having now googled, I’m not sure being an NBC/MSNBC politics show host automatically makes one a celebrity. |
I have a hard time believing these two aren’t in the same league. They were very similarly ranked for YEARS until the very recent new scoring system went into effect and Wake lost ground on diversity or something? It’s been a beat, so I’d have to look it up. It was one metric. And they devalued things that Wake was strong in, like # of classes taught by full professors and average class size. |
The locations are massively different. Nashville is much bigger with many more off-campus options than W-S. For kids used to being in a city setting (or just having a larger life) I can see Wake / W-S getting old after a year. Thats said, I can also see Wake / W-F being perfect for kids who want a more low-key, campus-based environment for four years. Different strokes for different folks. |
You make Wake sound like Williams or Colby. Winston is not Nashville but it is far from remote. It is a decent sized city with restaurants, shopping, events, an airport, etc. |
But the new scoring system also greatly devalued Vandy yet it is still top 20. |
Vandy seems to have more celebrity kids, or at least kids of media figures:
Apple Martin Stephanopolous Lara Spencer Willie Geist Michale Strahan |
She’s an alum. I graduated with her in the 90s. |
She was a cheerleader but not for all 4 years. She was class of 99. |
Sean Hannity’s son went to wake forest. It was actually a bit of a scandal bc he supposedly bought his way in by letting the tennis team use his private jet. |
That’s the one. I mixed him up with Tucker. |
I stand by my post. Vandy even wrote a statement about the new scoring system. The student bodies are fairly similar. Yes, maybe kids like the more urban environment in Nashville. For the poster talking about the campuses, I picked Wake because of the gorgeous campus. I liked being close enough to shopping and restaurants, but that wasn’t my everyday. I went to classes, I went to activities, I studied, and most socializing was on campus. It was what I wanted. The campus was so pretty and felt like home. |
Thanks. I don’t have to bother my friend now. I was about 95% sure, but people made me doubt myself. |
