Regret running your counter slab up the wall/backsplash?

It makes me paranoid that one day it will come unglued and kill me. Crazy I know.

Doing quartzite slab as backsplash because I really don't like the look of tile in a kitchen. I think it's timless not trendy. My 90s remodel has quartz as a lower backsplash and its's great. Wished it was taller so splashes don't land on the wall so that's what I'm doing.

But a quartzite or marble slab with veining or movement, I love- I hands down prefer to see it up all the walls as well. More expensive but nicer looking so we did that for our bathrooms and kitchen.

I like it when it’s real marble, not so much quartz.

I am presently looking for a backsplash and having a devil of a time. Everything is at least a little wrong — and it’s so much $$.

Yeah, avoid that stuff. It looks mid 1970s plastic cheap, like the gaudy japanese-themed stuff from that era.

Having pulled out an all-tile counter when we renovated, I am not trying to even more tile going up a wall. I'm good not seeing grid/lines on my walls for a very long time.

I just don’t think quartz is something to show off on a wall… a countertop is utilitarian but why would you put on a wall like it’s art?

Marble or Quartzite is cool and beautiful (usually) and would be worth seeing on the wall (and $$$$$)
