Doing business in America now just feels like a scam

Part of it (not all of it) is people’s search for the cheapest product always. So my kids order from Amazon and probably half the time the product is just crap and will break immediately. I’d rather buy from an established company and brand that at least cares a little about its reputation. Like you may pay more buying at Rei but they will stand behind the product and take it back if it stinks.

All the companies are trying to compete with the crap no name brands and so they cut quality control, they cut customer service, etc etc. it’s the temu-fixation of the market.

And, a President who is constantly bullying and threatening people and organizations and reducing oversight.

It's a DC and DMV thing. I can't wait to leave.

I do agree we have lost all ethical and moral standards. It's been happening since Trump became president the first time and it has become increasingly worse.

Wow what a stupid comment. These problems began way before Jan. SMH.

So enlighten us. What do you think was a pivotal point or event where maximizing profits became more important than customer relationships, where companies didn't care about quality or reputation, just selling units? Any insight?

DP. Globalization started the downward spiral. There's always more customers. There are always cheaper workers.
