Unfortunately, the UHC "allowed amount" is often a fraction of the real price. If you send them a superbill for a specialist visit, they might cut you a check for $62.

yes, united is terrible. But CWC isn't blameless in this either. They have created a monopoly in this area making it difficult to switch providers or get second opinions.

Is United really considered bad insurance? I’ve had them for 25 years and have never had a problem (including three deliveries). I left CWC when I was pregnant with my first, they were AWFUL

United isn't great. But yes, CWC is awful.

Yes, ask someone you known a medical practice how their reimbursement is, how often things get returned.
