C2 Education Bethesda SAT Prep

Decent tutors. But at neither locations they taught how to use Demos for Math. That was a big red flag for me.

Their methods are still geared to the old paper SAT Tests.

At Bethesda one staff said they have someone there that worked for College Board and has access to the tests. bogus? Anything to get a new customer? Any other companies where you pay up front for tutoring or test prep?

A staff member who worked for CB but no longer works for CB? If currently working with CB, that's a conflict, but plenty of people move around these kind of companies for work.

But I don't know if they can just leave CB with a ream of tests...

Doubt they did. They just probably know how tests are made. if anyone uses CB bluebook, you can see practice tests, no need for anyone at c2 to show you. Practice practice practice.

They have a location in Rockville and maybe in Silver Spring.

Before pandemic, Sylvan Learning was in Bethesda. You could check that out if they have prep classes.

‘Y kids just doing self prep with a book and khan academy. What a racket this test prep biz is.

Slyvan not in Bethesda any longer. There was a Huntington in Colesville (Silver Spring) years ago but they seem to have closed or moved location to a site in Bethesda. The tutor maybe test prep as well?

Anonymous wrote:We used C2. It worked for both of my kids who are now a rising sophomore and freshman in college. What they needed was a structured time to sit and do problems with a tutor available to explain things they didn't get. C2 fit this need.

Each ended up going from about a 1400 to a 1550. Could I have accomplished this myself? Sure. But with C2 they drove themselves to tutoring and I didn't have to sit over them and nag them. They had a standing tutoring time each week that they didn't miss. There was no: "no mom, I don't want to do SAT studying now."

How many sessions or weeks/months did it take to raise their scores?

There was another company in Bethesda. They might still be around. Prep Matters.

Yes. Stay away from C2. Had a terrible experience at the Bethesda location.

Is the C2 in Bethesda better than the one in Silver Spring/Colesville? Is it run by same people? Is it difficult to schedule times for test prep sessions with a tutor at either location?

If anybof you used c2 more recently, can you share experiences for SAT test prep?

Jacked up their prices to compete with across-the- street PrepMatters. It is Bethesda after all.
