Is there a way to identify homemade (not china crap) sellers more easily?

If you have any shops you like, please name them.

We make very few items since all handmade items are very time consuming and we are doing this only for fun. We also advertise on Etsy to get our shop some reputation. So far we have made almost 20 sales (all handmade and unique) in 7 months, and absolutely no profit. Actually we have some loss due to advertising costs.

Our shop's name is Lunaris Artisan if anyone wants to check it out: https://www.etsy.com/shop/lunarisartisan

Thanks for this. I remember when Etsy was all handcrafted.
Now if I hear about an artisan, I go specifically to that Etsy store. I don't browse around with the china crap. So get your name out there and post images of your real creations!

I've purchased eyeglasses chains handmade by a lady in Greece,

Homemade soaps from both Maine and Virginia,

Gorgeous seashell wreath and a rock wreath by an artist in Oregon,

More seashell decor by an artist in Rhode Island,

Vintage handkerchiefs sold by a collector in Canada,

Homemade birdhouses and butterfly houses by a woodsmith in Michigan,

And varioud other bits and bobs over the years.

Have never had any issue with any of the Etsy sellers I purchased from over the years nor any problems with my payment method being abused.

A gift card to Etsy is a very nice gift, there is a world of artisan work to explore there. Enjoy!

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope more people discover our shop based in Northern Virginia. We only sell on Etsy and we don't have a physical shop. https://www.etsy.com/shop/lunarisartisan

You're engaged? I used it so much for my wedding. Personalized ring plates, signs, embroidered things.

I also like handmade painted christmas ornaments, birthday party decor.

Why do you think that was because of Etsy? Your cc could be cloned from a million different places. Do you never buy gas because gas stations have instances of cc skimming? Ridiculous.

Bc it was the only place I used the credit card is why.

I used to buy the most gorgeous handmade soaps from a seller until she got a Whole Foods contract and decided to close her Etsy store. I still dream about the Tuscan olive blossom fragrance.

I love Etsy, and I’m looking almost every day. Their best things are vintage.

I love these stores:

The Style Thrifer:

Davecottage:

My French Antique Shop:

Etsy is also a great place for handmade.
Here are some cute options:

Strawberry napkins:

This shop is on a break, but it’s got great reviews.

There are hundreds of great stores. If our styles don’t match, just create an account and start searching for things you like. The algorithm will get better at showing you cute things. I’m insanely jealous of your gift card.

I generally just use it for crochet patterns and gifts. DD requests things like earrings and art prints.
