HUD to take over NSF building...and add executive private dining, exclusive elevator use, and space for 5 cars

I don’t understand how this is getting “HUD out of Washington “ when it’s just moving literally 6 miles away to Alexandria on Eisenhower. It’s inside the Beltway. And it’s not as if Alexandria commercial rental rates are less expensive.

I’m not even touching on NSF already being there. And then there in Youngkin celebrating the move “for Virginia”. I mean, is this really going to net Virginia jobs? I don’t get it.

Two big empty buildings on the nearby USPTO campus...

It's a soundbite for MAGAs who don't understand geography

I work at NSF. We have a very nice, newish building, which is probably the main appeal.

HUD toured the building months ago (i saw them) and rumor was they was initially interested in the top two floors. Then we didn't hear anything until story was leaked day before the press conference. (The "we" includes NSF acting director.)

These people are just freakin’ shameless. Like zero shame. Especially for an agency with a mission to support lower income housing.

The corruption in this administration is beyond belief. Meanwhile I'm a fed at an agency the administration is punishing. We haven't had our floor cleaned in months. A cockroach fell on me this week.
