I've seen a bunch of these lists with some head scratchers included (which makes you wonder if the interns putting the list together might have injected their school). I might disagree with some on this list being included, but they aren't head scratchers.
Architecture Digest had what I thought was a pretty good list: https://www.architecturaldigest.com/gallery/most-beautiful-colleges-in-america |
University of San Francisco, with Lone Mountain dorms, amazing views and 2 blocks from the Panhandle and Golden Gate Park. But not architecturally striking. |
Some candidates would be Middlebury, Richmond, Indiana, West Point, Vassar, Mount Holyoke, and Scripps |
| Bard college at #5?? |
| I doubt many applicants care how beautiful Bard (or some others on the list) are based on their acceptance rates |

Historical Charm of UVA?
OMG I have literally split my sides laughing. I visited UVA with my parents when I was 13 It was singularly unimpressive. I'm in my 50s now and would never allow my kids to even apply! |
| The fact that Vassar is missing from that list is nuts. |
Ah, the "UVA is overrated" crowd is slow to arrive today. It took 6 entire responses for it to appear. Come on, you can do better than that! |
If that really has you cracking up laughing, you are really weird. They don’t need you or your kids to be impressed. |
UVA is gorgeous. Only school in the country that’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. Please reread your post. I feel bad for your kids. |
| Michigan has some nice areas, but I don't think it should have made the list. |
| Hokie stone is drab not beautiful |
| What about Baylor University? Waco is gorgeous. |
| Cambridge and Oxford make most U.S. campuses look like strip malls. |
Richmond and W&L are also worthy of consideration. Sweet Briar was also lovely. Haven't visited since they had financial issues. |
