Healthcare premiums were rising pre-ACA as well. Some indication is that the YoY increases have slowed since ACA.

If everyone is insured the pool of risk is larger and costs should be controlled but because it is a for-profit system, insurance must pay large executive compensation packages and shareholders.

Since the vast majority of pregnancies requiring maternity and obstetric care involve male participation, that seems at least as fair as having women pay for insurance that subsidizes gunshot wounds and other results of impulsive behavior. Good idea. If you have a vasectomy + confirm you are shooting blanks you no longer have to pay for premiums to cover maternity care. Of course, post-menopausal women also should get the same decrease right?
