College and University Discussion

Same with my Am Law 10 firm. We are not shying away from Columbia grads, whether undergrad or law school. This person is delusional. |
DP What are âtiesâ to Palestine? I always thought that âtiesâ meant an airtight, direct, documented connection between a person and another person, a region, an entity, whatever ⌠but now, it just seems like radical, extremist Zionists like Loomer use the term to smear anyone who so much as expresses concern over what the global consensus agrees is an ongoing, horrific genocide. If someone is morally against whatâs occurring in Gaza, does that mean they have âties to Palestineâ? |

Depends on the organization and hiring managers. I just turned down a Columbia applicant this week. As a double alum (the college and bschool), I have no interest in employing Columbia students. Plenty of great candidates from other schools. |
Yeah but this has nothing to do with accreditation. Every school has its share of fickle, feckless alumni turned hiring managersânavigating the political winds with no moral compass, just a weathervane. You know the type: guided by convenience, not convictionâalways taking the temperature, never taking a stand. Roar, Lion, Roar! |
And is your no based on the students themselves? |
| No Kings! |
And who is that âemployersâ ? |

Columbia was Columbia before the accreditor existed.
If Columbia loses accreditation, they will accredit themselves, and the former accreditor will lose reputation. Accreditors have no power except reputation. Trump will be gone in 4 years or less. Columbia had survived far longer than Trump, and will continue. |

Have you told your boss what you are doing? Is your employer MAGA or are you looking forward to getting fired for undermining the company for your own business-unlrelated political posturing? |
Davis Polk and other Zionists refused to hire outspoken anti-Zionists. That's a mutually agreeable solution. Unlike Israeli government, they didn't collectively punish all the students from the schools. (They aren't thet much Zionist) |
