He shouldn’t have been in the school in the first place, plus the weapon.
MCPS has gotta do better to keep our kids safe .

Ah. MCPS avoided sharing those details in their community letter...

And teachers. Two of my colleagues were threatened By students today. Nobody is safe.

Wootton staff should go public with their concerns to the media. It's the only way to get MCPS to pay attention.

Absolutely. But this was at another school. It’s systemic.

Wow. Another day parents didn’t parent. Very sad.

Y'all don't get tired of giving MCPS a free pass for failing to do the basics?

It is the job of MCPS to educate children NOT raise children. People are TIRED of giving parents a free pass by blaming everyone else.

It is MCPS's job to keep kids safe while they're under their care. Cut the crap.

There's only so much they can do though.

Yes they can. They choose not to.

Thanks for all those who voted to take police out of schools. Terrible decision.
Bring the police back to the schools and anyone who brings a weapon to school, expelled.
Kids and teachers should feel safe in the schools!!

They send them out to the country and put them on the football team. Works every time.

What MCPS doesn't want to admit is that a good portion of the violence happening in some of our high schools, especially when it comes to our Hispanic students, is due to gang activity. Specifically, we're talking about MS-13 and Tren de Aragua. The stabbing incident at Watkins Mill has ties to gang activity. But MCPS and MCPD won't admit that out loud because they want to preserve the reputation of the county as a "good place to live."

The Kennedy, Watkins Mill and Gaithersburg clusters are hotbeds for this Latin American gang activity.

It's why things like this are happening: https://foxbaltimore.com/news/local/ms-13-gang-member-moco-arrested-convicted-sentenced-elmer-lopez-cortez-26-life-without-parole-montgomery-county-murder-case-shooting-death-willians-anderson-alberto-cruz

These gangs use young adults who are 19-25, to recruit high schoolers into the drug trade or sex trafficking. MCPS does not want to acknowledge this privately or publicly. But that's the reality of what is happening in our communities and schools.

Unfortunately all true, and don’t forget the DCC high schools.
