Powder room remodel - pedestal sink vs vanity.

Anonymous
I hate our pedestal sink in our powder room- which was renovated right before we purchased 4 years ago so I feel guilty/wasteful ripping it out. No where to put spare toilet paper, etc. So bathroom always looks gross to me to have it on the ground ( in one of those toilet papernholder racks)

I don’t mind a pedestal sink in a powder room. I have a little covered basket that holds 2 rolls of toilet paper and it’s been fine.

We use the powder room all the time instead of going up or down a level to a "full bath." I am glad we have a vanity.

We've had a pedestal sink in our vanity for years and I can't wait to replace it with a vanity. There is nowhere to put kleenex or extra TP, the soap, lotion and disposable guest towels ends up on the sink top and toilet.

another reason NOT to get a pedestal is if anything goes wrong with the sink plumbing you have to take apart the entire pedestal to get to the pipes

We just renovated our powder room and adding decent storage was the main must have for me. We added a 26” vanity and a medicine cabinet and I love it. The only things out on the surfaces are soap, a decorative tissue holder and a bottle with scented sticks. Towels, extra toilet paper, feminine product, my make-up etc is all neatly stored away. The vanity takes space but I enjoy how neat the bathroom looks now.
