Mostly small arthouse films other than Gaga in Joker this year, so lead actress nominations could be all over the place. Chatter about Kidman, Winslet, Blanchett, Adams, Ronan, both Moores, His Three Daughter actresses, and several actresses in foreign films. So who knows.

She does not embody Callas in any way, shape or form. She's way too cold and reserved. Callas had a big bold effusive diva personality. Jolie can do intense and imperious but can't inhabit that kind of larger-than-life personality. Bad casting.

The producers released a clip from the Maria movie and she doesn’t nail Maria Callas’ accent and personality at all. She’s a terrible actress who can only play herself. The movie is getting poor reviews as well. It’s probably another bomb for her.

I agree the clip did not present her performance well. She looks beautiful, but looks and acts nothing like Callas. The butler was very good. It was a strange clip to choose. Why not a more compelling one of her 'performing,' if apparently she did okay there? Anyway, Netflix thinks it will do okay. They don't care about super-high quality just big names.

She is incapable of immersing herself in a role. She is always Angelina, no matter what part she plays. She thinks putting on a terrible accent will cover her abysmal acting abilities.

The movie is also supposed to show Maria at the end of her life when she was struggling with health and pills. And yet, Julie’s appearance in the clip was nothing like a woman on death’s door. She is too vain to immerse herself in the role.

You can cross off his three daughters. It's a netflix backed movie and they already have gascón and jolie to push for lead. Several European distribution companies just picked up Maria which puts her in a good position. Now I am worried about Adam's chances lol
