Oh and you should add Cardinal Elementary to your list as well if you’re looking in 22205.

Because there are only a handful of builders/lots available at any given time in N Arlington and the idea that this person is going to select based on ES is, according to every single poster, total nonsense. Since Cardinal is interchangeable with Nottingham for all intents and purposes. I mean, you’d decide to live in Nottingham but not Cardinal even if the lot was way better in Cardinal with a better builder? If so, you are obviously a moron.

Look, people will disagree but JES is half snoots and half very old parents. I would avoid.

Several of the elementary schools split for middle school. Ashlawn splits between Kenmore and Swanson.

Glebe also splits between Swanson & Hamm. Not sure why a PP thinks only one ES splits for MS.

I assume PP had been addressing the schools OP is looking at.

And here is that lovely North Arlington charm. I asked a one word question and the response is that I must be a moron. OP, this is what you get in North Arlington unfortunately. If you want a friendlier community, look elsewhere.

I think that's just DCUM, who knows if that poster even lives in Arlington.

I have a two kids at Tuckahoe and we are so happy. Great teachers and excellent new principal. The community is not as tight but for us (Two working parents) it is the perfect level of involvement for us.

Our best friends live two streets over and attend Nottingham. They absolutely love it. The admin is great and the PTA is super involved. One of her kids has an IEP and they have been very pleased with services and communication.

I'd say that Nottingham has more SAH parents and Tuckahoe parents mostly seem to have two working parents. That could just be my perception based on the circles I run in.

Both schools have had a lot of teacher turnover...but I think that is across the county (and country?) so I wouldn't read too much into that.

Avoid Kenmore. Our Cuban/Korean neighbors paid for parochial school then moved to Vienna to avoid their kids going to Kenmore.

See this is the problem. One experience rules all. Kenmore is a wonderful school and community with a long-time principal who really cares about his kids. I've thought about transferring there from Williamsburg (which has its own issues), but driving my kid back and forth from school is a consideration.
