I would think the reasonable assumption here would be that he got pushed out. Look at it from his POV. He helped get Potomac an ECNL team, appointed himself as the coach of the national team, put his son (with little experience) in as the only goalie… it was a dream scenario. Why would he leave? |
I absolutely agree with this, and am speaking from previous experience with him. Toxic and unseemly is correct. |
But not in a good way. |
I should have read this before I posted below, lol! But at least I now know I’m not the only one that saw it this way. |
I’m not sure you can say all that when the RL team is actually doing really well. |
One RL team is doing well. All the NL, and all the other RL teams are not. |
I agree this doesn’t sound like the 2008 team. My kid was on that team at u9 and the talent was evident. He eventually moved on because he was in the wrong place but most of the team stayed intact. |
Then I guess the PP who said several 2008 players on the BSC MLS Next team came from Potomac is mistaken Thanks for the clarification |
There are several 2008 players on the BSC MLSN team that came from Potomac. That is true. |
and several of them went to Potomac from a smaller club just how the game works in our area |
Yes, that is also true. Greener pasture. |
The great greener illusion has no end "It's greener where you water it" |
Correct. I feel like every BSC MLSN and ECNL team has boys and girls who have passed through Potomac. It’s like an unofficial feeder system. |
I mean yes it's "greener where you water it" but who has the resources for that? Usually bigger clubs, although they have all the issues of bigger clubs. If your kid is looking for exposure, he or she is not going to get it past a certain point at a small club. |
Exaclty, which is why they wanted ECNL, to keep their best players around. And why their 2008 ECNL team was such a disapointment...becasue it didn't work. |
