Younger boyfriend jokingly makes fun of my age

I assume your boyfriend was the one who asked you out and hit on you

He knows you are older. This sounds like it is a YOU issue.

I date younger men. They'll joke about my age and I'll joke about theirs. If it actually was an issue, they'd date someone younger. People generally assume I'm the younger one because I'm in good shape and the guys I date tend to have gray hair and beards, which can age them.

Wait a few years and you’ll get dumped and he will end up with a 25 year old. At least you’ll be pushing 40 and single.

Sorry to sound harsh, but this is how it almost always plays out. He will grow up a bit, realize he wants kids, and a woman pushing 40 isn’t it.

So absurd. There are plenty of older women younger men couples. That seems to really bother older men in general and women who settled with husbands they hate. Half the heartthrob men in Hollywood chose to marry older women

Exactly. Chris Henson, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Adam driver, Jason momoa, harry styles, the list goes on. For some reason it really triggers both the incels and hausfraus on this board

Macron

At least 2 of these were predatory/groom,ing situations and one is no longer together, another has been accused of violent behavior so not sure why our're counting these as feminist wins.

Seriously. I don't believe this was written by an actual 35 year old. If it really bothers you tell him to stop, if he respects you he will. If he doesn't well you have your answer

Any 21+ yr old adult is old enough to know that women are insecure about age and its insensitive to crack ageist jokes, no matter with older GF or older boss. If he is an insensitive person then he'll not become sensitive after marriage. You'll complaining in few years that your 38 year old husband is cracking jokes about you going to nursing home in few years.

Why are you dating a kid? You deserve better.

Be realistic. 9 years older than him and you are 1/3 of his age older than he is. This is not 5 years difference, age 55-60. It's significant.

Either you need to grow a thicker skin or you need to date someone closer to your age. Age difference is not a big deal unless you make it one.

I am 6 years older than dh and even though someone tried to introduce us when he was still in his 20s I wouldn't go until he turned 30. He has never once made fun of my age.

Its a tactic weak men use to get women (usually out of their league) to stick around. They insult/poke fun at the woman in the hopes of breaking down her self-esteem so as to make her insecure.

women want to be desired and men want to be needed....SO attacking a woman's self esteem is an attack on her ability to feel desirable. If she feels undesirable she wont "look elsewhere" and "stick with what she has"

back in the day when i dated men to "fit in" and they started that "insecure game" i would tell them i knew exactly what they were doing and it would always SHUT THEM DOWN

give it a shot or battle him at his own game and go after his desire to be needed. Usualy a quick penis size joke always works

Ah, this makes me miss my lesbian friends (I moved here from Winnipeg, Canada)… just straight talk!

I’m a straight woman who thinks/acts like a dude, or so I’ve been told. 😆
