Routine if you run outside in the morning?

This is generally also my schedule but I add about 4 ozs of a smoothie and just one cup of coffee.

49. Wake up, walk the dogs, do some mobility work (mainly on calves and quads). Head out door. The walk with the dogs, usually a half mile, is a good way to get moving.

OP again: do any of you do any treadmill runs or is it mainly outdoors? I realize my post asked about outdoor runs so maybe those folks aren’t here.

I ask because I ended up doing a 3 mile run on the treadmill in the evening and it felt like torture as opposed to running outside. But I can see how it would be good for speed runs or if I somehow miss the morning, as I don’t want to run outdoors at night.

Outdoors only for me. Treadmills are ok in a pinch, but so, so boring.

Exactly. The treadmill is like torture for me, too. I do a speed workout on one every couple of weeks. I'd just much rather be outside.

I'm one of the 43 year old PPs. I also only run outside. Treadmills are torture for me.

44. Outdoor only unless specifically training for long distance-1/2s or full in which case I will force myself onto a treadmill if necessary but it is like stabbing myself with a dull spork.

56. Run five miles three times a day. Get up - go the bathroom, put on running clothes and just go. Stretch and do all morning tasks after I get back. I have to do it first thing or it doesn't happen. Other mornings I get up and go to bootcamp or other exercise.

Another PP that is also 43.

I only run outdoors. I cannot deal with the treadmill. If I can't run (weather has to be really, really bad), I will do a HIIT workout in my basement.
