You are literally the worst parent - or this is satire. Let's all hope it's the latter.

Getting exposure to different sports to work on speed, hand eye coordination and balance.

Assuming 7 is first grade, I wouldn't sweat it for another couple of years. Even thereafter, he could pick up a stick in fifth grade (or even later) and be just fine, especially if he's a good athlete. If he's not a great athlete, his lacrosse career was always going to be short so no harm in not starting. If his friends gravitate toward it, support him if/when he shows interest. If he's behind, put him in an appropriate level of competition and tell him at that time he'll need to get better to play with his experienced friends. I would not force it, especially with competition that's too rough.

Until then, dad just needs to go in the backyard and throw with him and give him some chances to shoot. Heck, give him a tennis ball so he can wind up at dad.

He was an All American in college and for many years held the scoring record at his college.

I call BS. Post his name.

Rabil didn’t like lacrosse and wanted to quit but his mom made him do it.

His mom made him finish the season he committed to at the beginning of the season, not lacrosse forever. Very different lesson finishing what you started and committed to vs making someone play a sport if they never started or started a season with a team.

This same post (should I force my 7 year old to play or will he be left behind) pops up every few months. It always receives a surprising number of serious responses. No one can be that ridiculously clueless.

Just look at the thread four or five down. My third grader hates lacrosse - should I make him play? Just stop.

Ok but why did you pull up an ancient thread to say this?
