| We do a 20 minute mini-shoot every 2 years or so. Yearly feels like too much. But I do occasionally want some nice family photos. I got some amazing pictures of my kids this year and 20 minutes is the best length, right when they get antsy it’s over! Mine kids are 5 and 7. |

Mini shoots:
-every (incl extended)family vacation 2X/year Professional Photos with Immediate Family 2X a year |
| Once a year. So I can guarantee that I'm in at least one good picture a year. DH cannot take a decent picture to save his life. |
|
Twice, but usually on a whim, like if a photographer is offering garden minis or whatever I’ll jump on it.
I’m very picky and love good family photos taken by a talented photographer, not just a mom with a camera looking to make some money. I display the photos all over our house. I love them. |
Lol me too. So far every other year but it once a year is fine. We use some one who takes lifestyle/less posed photos |
|
Once per year, because it is the only way I can get any photos with all 4 of us. I have a good quality camera (not just my cell phone) and love photography as a hobby, so I’ve taken tons of pictures of our young children, plus some with them and DH…but, if I want to be in them as well, I have to pay!
My parents NEVER did family photos when I was a child (I’m an only). Lots of pictures of me, but not many of me with one of my parents, and none of all 3 of us. I regret that. |
| Mini sessions 2x a year, once in the spring, once in the fall. It’s about $300 a year and includes all photos. |
| We have done this about every 18 months for the past 4 years. Prior to that, only my wedding. But we found a local mom who does it almost as a hobby and charges only like $200 and we get 60+ digital prints. She lives in our neighborhood and it's all pretty casual and easy for us and the kids. I love the pictures we get. |
| Yearly for our Christmas cards |
+1 |
Hilarious - you think professional photography means JC Penney’s or Olan Mills? |
NP. I’d rather see an informal real shot than a fake casual pic of my family strolling through a field hand in hand. Actually, I’d rather do an Olan Mills shoot than that, too. |
| Once a year. I wish I had more photos of my family from growing up… my mom didn’t like to be photographed. There are many years where it seems like zero photos were taken of us as a family and only a crappy school photo of us kids. We actually just did an extended family shoot - I have like three pictures total with my late grandparents and they were all taken on the same day. They lived with us! |
| Never. What do you do with all these professional shots? |
|
I think it's low class.
Do your homes look like they were decorated by a stager, too? |
